February welcomed Thomas from Strasbourg,France.
He is a good cook and happy to help in the kitchen
 and in the garden.

Cleaning out an old trough is a bit messy
Washing and polishing the tractor, on another hot day.

Thomas came running and managed the Zig Zag and Duck Reach, a good achievement! It was a really hot day but a great run.

It's not all work, today we went out on the River Tamar

 Devonport light house.
Jack not keen to share.
Romain helps to put some cattle through the stockyards to record their weight gain.
No ladder required here, just cut it lower!
Romain is cleaning down the square baler after our hay season, then to be put away for another year.

 Chipping out weeds.
Getting the garden ready to plant for a winter crop.
Who's a lumber jack? Not us, we gave up after half an hour and will get a power log splitter.

In early January 2015 we welcomed Romain from Nice, France.

Wednesday, 31 December 2014

Bee's had moved into an old stump. Tim our neighbour from next door is a keen bee keeper so he was happy to re locate them to a hive and harvest the fresh bush honey.

Damien from Tulous , France  ( Dec. 2014 ) was here for the start of round baling this year.

                                          Harvesting garlic and peas.
We have been slow to update. December we had 2 helpers. Ivan from Italy and Damien from France.
Ivan happy to share some ravioli and gnocchi recipes, I have to say I have never seen our kitchen in such a state, it was a good time with Italian music playing and red wine flowing.
